Where the geotextile goes

Below the liner, the specified geotextile cushions contact with the prepared ground. Above it, a protection layer separates the membrane from the cover material.

For reservoir and canal lining and landfill liner systems, follow the approved layer design.

Remove sharp stones and debris first. Do not add fabric between a geomembrane and clay or GCL unless the design calls for it.

Not sure which weight to request?

Send the liner thickness, stone grading, cover depth and design loads. A 600 g/m² fabric is not automatically right for every job. For coarse cover material, read our protection trial-section guide with your project designer.

A few questions before you order

My specification says PP. Can I use this PET fabric?

This is polyester (PET). If your tender specifies polypropylene (PP), say so in your enquiry. Matching fabric weight is not enough to approve a substitution.

How much extra material should I allow for overlaps?

Use the overlap and joint details in the approved design, then add cuts, anchor details and repairs to the take-off. The 288 m² roll example above is nominal area, not installed coverage. See the installation guidance.

Do you have grades outside 400–800 g/m²?

The technical table covers 125–800 g/m². Suitability depends on the project specification. See the full PET non-woven geotextile range.
